What is a remote float?

RemoteFloat is a wireless connection for a float switch, enabling remotely installed float switches to control pumps over great distances.

Water tanks are often placed on high places so that we can take advantage of gravity.  There will be a pump somewhere to fill the tank.  But how does the pump know when to switch on?  Easy! – we connect a float switch in the tank so that it switches on the pump as soon as the water level drops. All of this is great.  But I wonder if you can spot the problem..

The problem is that the pump can often be very far away from the tank.  So what now?  You could try and lay one hell of a long cable run to bring the signal from the float switch back to the pump, but in many cases this is not only impractical but also a giant pain in the butt.  What would be nice is if we can somehow have a float that is not connected by wires.  A sort-of remote float?

There are two separate units.  One for the tank (TankStation) and one for the pump (PumpStation). They speak to each other via long-range wireless so that your tank remains full without any fuss.

  • Powered directly from mains voltage (or DC) on the PumpStation
  • Powered from 2x”AAA” batteries on the TankStation
  • Wireless range of 15km and more
  • Internal 30Amp relay at the PumpStation to switch pumps directly
  • Supplied in weather resistant enclosures (no extra enclosures needed)
  • Very economical
